PCC Taste | December 2013
Share the love of cooking
A great experience awaits with PCC Cooks. The new winter catalog (available in-store November 29, or online at PccCooks.com) includes everything from basic knife skills to hands-on cheese making workshops to classes for kids. Combine the catalog with a PCC gift card so your recipient can select their preferred location, date and particular interest — there are possibilities for all skill levels and many dietary choices. Registration begins at 9 a.m. on December 3. Find our specific recommendations for everyone on your list. PCC gift cards are usable for more than classes, of course, and can be purchased at store registers or online. They’re available in any denomination between $5 and $1,000.
Fall Food Drive
Last December, in just three weeks, we collected over $27,000 in customer donations for our 10 partner food banks. In hopes we will surpass that number for 2013, this year’s drive will run the entire month of December, giving us a full extra week for collections. Because we use the money collected to make wholesale bulk food purchases, your dollars go a long way — just $5 provides 168 servings of oatmeal, for hot, nourishing breakfasts this winter. At the register, you can grab a donation tag for $1, $5, $10, or $20, which the cashier can ring up. Or, you can have your total rounded up to the nearest dollar amount — every cent helps make a difference. We also offer bins in each store if you’d like to drop off nonperishable goods, or you can donate online via credit card.
Give a Chinook Book
The 2014 Chinook Book is on sale from November 20 to December 31 for $16. A mobile version is available for $12. Want both? A holiday combo gift pack is available for $25, which includes one book and one mobile app. Save hundreds of dollars while supporting local, sustainable businesses — inside, you’ll even find three coupons redeemable at PCC. With the sale of each book, PCC will donate all profits to PCC Farmland Trust. See chinookbook.net for more details.
