March madness munchies

PCC Taste | March 2011

Alley-oops, buzzer beaters, three-point plays — March Madness brings with it plenty of excitement and the perfect opportunity to enjoy your favorite snacks, as we watch the best college basketball teams battle it out.

But rather than sitting down with the usual bag of chips, turn to PCC for delicious snack options that can be healthier, too. The PCC Deli is filled with goodies, from taquitos to risotto cakes, artisan cheese to all-natural charcuterie. Try any of the following for satisfying snack options.

Breakfast — On the West Coast, March Madness begins early in the day. Enjoy an assortment of muffins 1 and scones with our Devonshire cream 2 and fresh fruit, indulge your sweet tooth with gooey cinnamon rolls, or savor one of our quiches.

Artisan cheese — Can't commit? The easiest way to put together a diverse and delicious cheese platter at minimal cost is to shop our deli cheese department's "bit baskets."3 You'll find a selection of cheeses cut large enough to enjoy but small enough to try a handful of different varieties. Plus it's a great way to sample new and exotic cheeses for the first time.

Deli meats — Put together a platter of sliced deli meats for delicious antipasto. You'll find a wide assortment of finely cured salamis from Zoe's Meats,4 grass-fed roast beef that's oven-roasted in the deli, Diestel turkey and ham from Pure Country Pork. Pick up some Divina marinated veggies to accompany the spread, and get creative by rolling pickled asparagus spears in pieces of ham,5 or combine other fun pairings.

Ready-made snacks — Keep it simple and grab an assortment of items from the deli that only require heating and serving. You'll find organic Chicken Wings in teriyaki, buffalo and barbecue flavors, Taquitos, Risotto Cakes, savory Baked Tofu, Oven-roasted Chicken Drumsticks, and Take & Bake Pizzas.6

And we always have a selection of freshly made, flavorful dips and spreads, to be paired with veggies, crackers and bread.
