Seasonal sockeye salmon
When the days grow long, it's time for an abundance of fresh sockeye salmon from the untamed rivers of Alaska. Beyond offering a wealth of nutrients and those crucial omega-3 fatty acids, salmon tastes great, and sockeye is no slouch in this department. Our wild sockeye bears a deep, reddish color and plenty of natural oils formed during a lifetime of swimming along chilly waterways.
Catching a treasure
The wild sockeye we carry at PCC is troll caught, a sustainable method endorsed by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Program.
Unlike more invasive fishing methods, trolling, or catching fish by hook and line, does not touch, scrape or otherwise disturb the seabed, meaning a smaller by-catch of fellow sea life.
