At PCC, we're extremely proud of our delicious, market-fresh produce selection because we've taken the time to get to know the producers who grow it.
For nearly 40 years, our co-op has pioneered the idea of supporting local farmers by bringing their harvest to our markets. Our close partnerships with dozens of Northwest growers means you'll find the freshest, in-season produce when you visit any PCC store.
Summertime brings berries and melons galore, plus bushels of organic Bing cherries from Mark LaPierre in the Yakima Valley. And don't forget everyone's favorite — sweet organic carrots, plus kale and cabbage, from Nash Huber and the Delta Farm on the Dungeness River Delta.
Come fall, take your pick from aisles of apples, from local organic growers like Scott Leach from Zillah, Washington. Or take home some squash and potatoes, grown by the folks at Rent's Due Ranch in Stanwood, Washington.
Organic by nature
We've also made it a priority to cultivate relationships with growers who are committed to organic farming methods. That means, the majority of the produce you'll find in our markets tastes pure and delicious because it is grown naturally — without artificial pesticides or fertilizers. To provide the best selection year-round, we also offer an assortment of the highest quality, conventionally grown produce.
Supporting local agriculture
PCC is committed to supporting local farmers through the Puget Sound Fresh program. By participating in this program — and by featuring fresh, locally grown produce in our stores — we are working to raise awareness of the importance of local, family-owned farms throughout the Puget Sound area.
