Vitaspelt Organic Spelt Berries

Spelt (triticum spelta) is an ancient red wheat and contains gluten. Some people sensitive to wheat may tolerate spelt.

Preparation: Bring 1 cup spelt berries, 2 1/2 cups water and a pinch of salt to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer about 1 1/2 hours.

Yield: about 3/4 cup per 1/4 cup uncooked spelt berries.
