It's Greek for Me!
Although Cathy is from Australia, she grew up around many immigrant Greek families. A joke there is that the second largest Greek city after Athens is Melbourne, so it’s only natural that Greek food became a favorite with Aussies. Cathy will demonstrate a meal that is typical of a seasonal Greek menu. You’ll start with a classic light, lemony rice and chicken stock soup, Avgolemono and taste Cretan Hortopita, (fillo pastry pie with mizithra cheese and greens). For the entrée, Psari Fournou (baked fish with lemon sauce) and parsley potatoes are perfect together, and after a dessert of Kourambiethes (almond crescent cookies), you’ll say “It’s Greek for me!” With poultry, seafood, dairy and eggs.
