Healthy Kids Cook

ParentMap and PCC have partnered to produce a web series called Healthy Kids Cook, designed to encourage families to make a healthy habit of cooking fresh food together. Each month, PCC Chef Jackie Freeman hosts families in the PCC kitchen to create an easy, kid-friendly recipe featuring seasonal fruits and vegetables.

Homemade Energy Bars!
  • Sanae and her dad Jeron, from Seattle Parks, joined Chef Jackie to make energy-packed Homemade Energy Bars. These no-bake bars are easy to customize with your favorite seeds, nuts or dried fruits, and make great portable snacks for when you're out and about.

Greek Chicken Kebabs with Easy Tzatziki Sauce
  • PCC Chef Jackie Freeman invited 11-year-old Ryley and her Mom, Jen, from STAR 101.5, to help make Greek Chicken Kebabs with Easy Tzatziki Sauce. They're super fast and flavorful, with a great combination of lean protein and fresh veggies to keep active bodies well-fueled.

Dutch Baby Pancake
  • PCC Chef Jackie Freeman invited Sage and her best friend Max to help make sweet and savory Dutch Baby Pancakes. Sage and her family work closely with Seattle Children's, and May is the month when PCC celebrates Families Helping Families, and donates a portion of every PCC Kid Picks purchase to Children's Hospital. These Dutch Baby Pancakes can be easily customized to suit everyone in the family, use nutritious locally grown whole wheat flour and feature several Kid Picks products.

  • PCC Chef Jackie Freeman invited 5-year old Gavin and his mom, Charlene, to help make a Mighty Mini Meal: Black Bean Tamale Pies. Gavin, his family and PCC are grateful supporters of the Puget Sound Blood Center, where superheroes donate necessary blood to help in ongoing battles against disease and injury. Gavin says his favorite superhero is Green Lantern, but we think Gavin himself is heroic!
