Basil meets strawberries in this delightful summer drink.

Ingredients

Preparation

Combine water, sugar and basil in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.

Remove from the heat and steep for 20 minutes; strain. Basil simple syrup can be refrigerated for up to one week.

Stir together lemon juice, strawberries and 1/2 cup basil simple syrup in a large pitcher; fill with ice.

Top off with ginger ale, adding more simple syrup if desired to increase sweetness. Garnish with basil leaves.

Each serving: 140cal, 0g fat (0g sat), 0mg chol, 5mg sodium, 37g carb, 1g fiber, 0g protein
