Simple Pesto Sauce
This recipe is:
Vegetarian
Corn-free
Egg-free
Gluten-free
Peanut-free
Soy-free
Wheat-free
Serve this easy pesto as a sauce for pasta, fish or chicken, or as a spread on crackers. You can also add sundried tomatoes and use it as pizza sauce in place of traditional red sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh basil leaves, packed Add to list
- 1/2 cup olive oil Add to list
- 1/4 cup pine nuts Add to list
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan reggiano Add to list
Preparation
Combine ingredients in a food processor or blender and puree until smooth, adding more olive oil if needed until the pesto reaches desired consistency. Season with salt.
