Peanut Brittle Pie Crust
Yield: Makes one 9-inch pie crust
This recipe is:
Vegetarian
Soy-free
Use this pie crust in the recipe for Southern-style Banana Cream Pie.
Ingredients
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs (you may use crisp vanilla, ginger or chocolate cookies to make the crumbs if you prefer!) Add to list
- 3 tablespoons sugar Add to list
- 1/4 cup finely crushed peanut brittle or other nut brittle (see note) Add to list
- 6 tablespoons melted butter Add to list
Preparation
Preheat oven to 375° F.
Combine all of the ingredients together and press into a 9-inch pie pan. Bake for 15 minutes and allow to cool completely before filling.
Notes
If you don’t have peanut brittle available, substitute 3 tablespoons finely chopped peanuts and 1 tablespoon brown sugar.
