Nut and Crumb Pie Crust

Makes bottom crust for one 9-inch pie.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup finely ground nuts (from 2/3 cup whole nuts) Add to list
  • 1/2 cup fine dry bread, cracker or cookie crumbs* Add to list
  • 2 tablespoons oil, melted butter, juice or water Add to list
  • 1 tablespoon honey or fruit concentrate (such as Mystic Lake) Add to list

Preparation

Mix and press into pie plate. Works best as a pre-baked crust. Bake at 350° F for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool and fill as desired.

*This recipe also works well with wheat-free crumbs.
