Indian Split Pea Soup

Ingredients
- 1 cup dried split peas Add to list
- 5 cups water Add to list
- 1/2 teaspoon curry powder Add to list
- 1 1/2 teaspoon cumin Add to list
- 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Add to list
- 1 small diced carrot Add to list
- 1 lemon Add to list
Preparation
Bring water to boil and add split peas. Lower heat and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add spices and carrot and continue to cook for 15 minutes. When serving, quarter lemon to garnish soup.
