Bagged Apple Program

Apples for a cause

Bag of apples

This fall, eating an apple a day comes with a bigger benefit than keeping the doctor away.

PCC has partnered with Washington state apple growers and Organically Grown Company (the Northwest’s largest organic produce distributor) to fund farm-to-school education in our region.

Proceeds from bagged Fuji apples in specially marked Farm to School bags will support nonprofit programs that provide an assortment of hands-on activities for K-12 students and their teachers, including field trips to Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands, and Garden Educator workshops that show teachers how to create classroom gardens.

Program grants will be awarded annually — and the more apples Washington eats, the more grant money will be available.

If you'd like another way of helping Seattle Tilth, you’re invited to stop by the Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands and get your hands dirty! There are volunteer work parties every Saturday.

Learn from the experts through hands-on experience and be part of an exciting process of growing an urban community farm in the Rainier Valley. For more info visit Seattle Tilth.
