Make a difference with the PCC Food Bank Program.
A generous year — 2007 update
The PCC Food Bank Program is committed to reducing hunger in our community. Through the generosity of PCC customers, thousands of pounds of basic, healthy food are distributed through local food banks each month through the program. The challenging economy has made it a lot more difficult for many families to get by. How can you help?
Give at the register.
There are two easy ways to donate:
- Say "Donate the difference." Your purchase total will be rounded up to the nearest dollar and the difference will be donated automatically.
- Add a donation of any amount to your purchase total.
(Save the receipt for your tax records.)
With PCC Food Bank Program funds, PCC purchases nutritious, bulk foods at discounted prices, which are then packaged by PCC volunteers and given to the local food bank. One hundred percent of all funds donated go directly to the food banks in the form of food or cash. None is taken for administrative costs!
Donate non-perishable food, or non-food items.
Just put them in the food bank bin at your local PCC Natural Market. Don't know what to give? These are the most commonly needed items:
- Canned proteins, such as tuna, peanut butter, beans and chicken
- Canned soup, vegetables and fruit
- Baby food, infant formula and diapers
- Canned prepared foods, such as chili or stew
- Hot or cold cereals
- Canned or powdered milk
- Cooking oil
- Dried foods, such as noodles, pasta and crackers
- Toiletries, such as soap, toothpaste and toilet paper
