PCC Natural Markets (PCC) honored in 2006 MarCom Creative Awards competition
Seattle, Wash., November 30, 2006 — The PCC Web Site won a "Gold" award and its member newsletter, Sound Consumer, received "Honorable Mention" in the 2006 MarCom Creative Awards competition.
The MarCom Creative Awards is an international awards competition that acknowledges outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals. Judges are marketing industry professionals who recognize companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. More than 5,000 entries in a variety of categories were submitted in the 2006 competition, from throughout the U.S. and several other countries.
The PCC Web site (www.pccnaturalmarkets.com) won in the competition's "Web site/Overall Site" category, and the Sound Consumer was honored in the "External Newsletter/Other" category.
"Our Web site offers a wealth of information to PCC customers, and to visitors from all over the world, who are interested in good health and great food," said Nancy Gagnat, PCC's Web site manager. "Our user-friendly site is visited by more than 130,000 visitors each month and contains thousands of pages of information on subjects ranging from natural products and recipes, to community events and sustainable business practices."
PCC's Sound Consumer has been in publication since 1961. It is distributed to PCC's 40,000 members monthly and is available in each of PCC's eight King County, Wash., locations. Its editorial content is generated by experts, some on staff at PCC, on subjects ranging from consumer food safety to farm preservation.
"The Sound Consumer has been a reliable source of information on food, nutrition and agriculture for 45 years," said Trudy Bialic, Sound Consumer editor and PCC's public affairs director. "It's an honor to be recognized by communication industry professionals, but we feel rewarded each month by tremendous response from loyal readers locally and literally throughout the world."
Almost all the design and copy of the PCC Web site and the Sound Consumer are the work of PCC's internal creative dept.
