King County (WA) Solid Waste Division — 2010 Best Workplace for Recycling & Waste Reduction
PCC was one of 75 King County businesses and organizations to be recognized as a “2010 Best Workplace for Recycling & Waste Reduction.” The award was given to companies that demonstrate the value of creative approaches to recycling and reducing waste in the workplace. PCC has qualified for this recognition for four consecutive years and has been the only grocery retailer to qualify each year.
“Best Green Business” — The Redmond Reporter
The Redmond PCC was voted “Best Green Business” by readers of the Redmond Reporter. The purpose of the Best of Redmond 2010: Readers’ Choice Awards is “to salute the entrepreneurs, officials and organizations that help make Redmond the Northwest gem that it is.” Results of online and mail-in votes cast by readers in four categories – People, Restaurants and Bakeries, Services and Venues – were announced in the newspaper’s July 16, 2010 issue.
LifeSPAN — 2010 “Good Life” Award
PCC Natural Markets was recognized for its support of employees with disabilities by Bellevue, Wash.-based LifeSPAN (Lifetime Secure Personal Assistance Network), an independent 501 ©(3) non-profit organization. LifeSPAN supports families to develop safe, secure and quality futures for relatives with disabilities.
