Washington Toxics Coalition — "Grassroots Hall of Fame"
In October Trudy Bialic, PCC's director of public affairs, was inducted into the Washington Toxics Coalition "Grassroots Hall of Fame," She was honored for her work opposing genetically-engineered food and supporting sustainable agriculture, and her consumer education efforts, including her work with local schools on pesticide reduction.

In December's Best of 2006 issue, Seattle Magazine named PCC's Kid Picks program as the "Best way to get your kids to eat fruit" in the Best of Kids category. PCC was one of twelve categories that received a mention in this category.
"Finalist" in the "Facility Operator/Manager" category, 2006 BetterBricks Awards competition
Lori Ross, PCC's director of store development, was honored as "Finalist" in the "Facility Operator/Manager" category of the 2006 BetterBricks Awards competition. The award was based on her overall work in emphasizing sustainable building practices and integrating energy efficiency into the design and operation of PCC locations.
Best Independent Chain, Vitamin Retailer magazine
PCC was voted Best Independent Chain in Vitamin Retailer's annual Retail Excellence Awards. Awards winners were nominated by supplement manufacturers, distributors, brokers, and consultants in the natural products industry, who nominate stores they feel are outstanding.
Finalist, Favorite Gourmet Shop category
PCC won finalist in the 2006 People's Picks contest, Gourmet Shop category, held by NWsource.com, the Seattle Times Shopping Web site. Seattleites voted for their favorite local places and people in a variety of categories in this annual contest.
"Favorite Grocery Store," ParentMap magazine
PCC took first place for "Favorite Grocery Store" in ParentMap magazine's annual contest that asks their readers to select favorites in four major categories: Shopping & Buying, Families and Food, Entertainment and Fun, and Services and More.
2006 National Nutritional Foods Association "Crusader" award
Goldie Caughlan, PCC Nutrition Education Manager, was one of four recipients recognized as individuals who have made notable contributions to the natural products industry above and beyond commercial success.

Listed in Sustainable Industries Journal, Overview 2006 - in this third annual book of trend forecasts and lists ranking the Pacific Northwest's leading sustainable business pioneers, PCC is listed 5th in the "Innovations" category, specifically among "Companies in a Class All Their Own".
