PCC Natural Markets won the 2005 Fair Trade Display Challenge, sponsored by TransFairUSA in the 6-50 locations category. PCC's entry was created by Roxanne Winship, PCC Visual Merchandiser, for our very successful Fair Trade event at the Fremont PCC on October 9, and remained on display throughout October 2005 (Fair Trade Month).

It was chosen from a number of contest submissions by an independent panel of judges, on the basis of its creative content, customer attraction, focus on Fair Trade Certified products and effective communication of the Fair Trade message.

The contest prize is a trip for two to Costa Rica to visit pineapple, coffee, cacao and banana farms with the purpose of witnessing, first hand, the transformative power of Fair Trade at the community level.

Roxanne and Diana Crane, PCC Community Relations Manager, traveled to Costa Rica in early March, 2006. They brought back helpful information as well as an enriching experience that will help PCC further communicate our support and dedication to Fair Trade.
